There's Something Fishy Going On at Frankies 570

 

When Dave Pasternack left Esca to head up Eataly's Il Pesce restaurant in 2010, Chef de Cuisine Katie O'Donnell got a littler busier.  Eater brings us the news that now, after seven years at Esca, she heads to Frankies 570 on Hudson Street in Manhattan, the newest addition in the Frank and Frank empire.

Harold Dieterle is Crabby

Starting next Monday the 20th, Harold Dieterle over at Kinship will be offering a 5 course crab tasting.  The tasting will run $60 a head and will see variations over time.

Maybe Harold should consult Forrest's friend Bubba?

Crab kabobs, crab Creole, crab gumbo, pan-fried, deep-fried, stir-fried, pineapple crab, lemon crab, coconut crab, lemon crab, cave crab, crab stew, crab salad, crab and potatoes, crab burger...

West (Village) Meets East (Village)

Alex Stupak, former pastry chef at WD-50, is opening an Empellon offshoot next week.  Empellon Cocina will be located at 105 First Ave (btwn 6th and 7th) and will open just in time for Valentine's Day. 

Now you can tell your loved one you love them with a mouthful of chicharonnes.
